As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining ABAP-based functions with business logic, while also supporting various interfaces within our SAP platform. You will focus on optimizing these programs, with a strong emphasis on operations, system maintenance, and automation. In collaboration with our SAP Basis team, you will work to enhance the performance of our applications across both the HANA database and application servers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with functional teams and Business Analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into robust, integrated solution designs.
- Implement ABAP programs or CDS views based on specifications.
- Follow best practices and coding standards, continuously improving the existing codebase.
- Ensure core functionalities are covered by unit tests.
- Drive system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to resolve issues efficiently.
- Provide technical support and expertise to project teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Technical designs, specifications, and configurations should be documented for future use and information exchange.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of ABAP programs and SAP HANA CDS Views to ensure optimal system performance.
- Work closely with SAP Basis and infrastructure teams to maintain smooth operation and performance of SAP systems.
Essentials:
- A degree from an institution of higher learning in information technology, computer science, or a similar subject.
- At least five years of experience in ABAP development, with a strong understanding of SAP HANA CDS Views and AMDP table functions.
- Proven ability to optimize system performance using performance tuning techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Motivation to work in an international and culturally diverse team.
- Strong English communication skills in writing, speaking, and interpersonal interactions.
Nice to Haves:
- Previous experience with SAP Bank Analyzer or FPSL.
- Knowledge of modeling techniques.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (SCRUM/Kanban).
